Normal People, by Sally Rooney

Very well-written and uniquely-written book, but I think it's a little overhyped.

I enjoyed the dual character point of view format of the book as it provided a more balanced recount of the story. The beginning of the book got me a little confused as to who's who and what the relationships between the characters were. Also, for the first three chapters or so, I had no idea what age the main characters were. They sounded pretty juvenile but also, seemed more mature in some snippets. I'll help you out here and let you know they start out in high school.

All in all, it felt like your usual coming of age book that's written well.
