The Artist

As I observe the painter, meticulously add the final touches to the painting, I almost stand up and applaud with joy. It's his best piece of work, YET. In a casual conversation, what he thought about his painting? And to my surprise, he called this one a doodle, an outcome of his boredom, a pass-time. "This has to go to the gallery, you know? For the world to ogle at, to commercialise upon, and capitalize for the masses, my best works are sacred, for myself and no one else" "So have you already painted it?" "Ughh No! If I do that, how can I go one living, painting this mediocre stuff every day? You know?"
