Reflexive Control

Reflexive control is an influence tactic used to control behavior. It is most effective on large scales.

The idea is that a subject can be primed to react in a consistent manner in the presence of a chosen stimulus. Once the subject is primed, the subject's behavior may be controlled simply by introducing the stimulus.

Consider sheep and sheepdogs. The sheep are primed to run away from predators. The sheepdog resembles a predator to the sheep. When the shepherd introduces the stimulus of the sheepdog to the herd, predator reflex is triggered. The herd flees exactly into the pen where the shepherd wants them.

How do you prime a human subject? Apply first order thinking to higher order facts. Given time and repetition, their attention can be focused into a tunnel view of reality.

You may then place a train in the tunnel.
