I am taller if you stand in my shadow
If you asked me how I’m doing
I’d tell you about my past:
The bits and pieces, brick and mortar
That built me into who I am now
In the present, oversharing
Under appreciating.
Because my body is stone
Grounded in the shadow of tomorrow
Because my mind is air
And my center is hollow
Because gravity tells me to sit still
A monolith eroded by the wakes of
Solace
I am emanating, irreverent
Falling in line on the concrete
Where I’m centered in place
Yet the wind sounds
Nothing like silence
