I've learned over the years how much I've changed, and how much my mind has opened up with every experience I have with each person I've interacted with.
Looking back, I was making bad decisions with my eyes wide open. With society levelling people's standards of living, this equalization has also created a tendency to standardize people's values, and perhaps even their cultural forms as well. And the reason why so many people today have low self-esteem may be because we're taught from a young age to conform to that society. It may also be because we're taught to be loved by others before loving ourselves. Before I noticed that practice being ingrained in me, I unfairly imposed that idea of getting love from others before getting that from myself onto the people that cared for me.
